  • Study in Revelation #82
This sermon examines the identity of the 'man of sin' and the 'great apostasy' described in 2 Thessalonians 2, arguing that these prophetic figures refer specifically to the papal antichrist and the historical fall of the Church of Rome. The speaker supports this interpretation by citing the testimonies of Reformation leaders such as Martin Luther, John Calvin, and John Knox, as well as the Westminster Confession of Faith, to establish the theological consensus that the papacy usurps Christ's headship. The analysis distinguishes this religious apostasy from political or secular decline, linking it to specific doctrinal errors like the prohibition of marriage and dietary restrictions found in 1 Timothy 4. The message serves as a pastoral warning against deception, urging believers to remain grounded in Scripture and to guard their hearts against the gradual compromise that leads to spiritual fall.

  • #3607 John 123 – C: “Cause Of Death”
There are many reasons that people die and some of those causes are cancer, heart disease and many other issues, however, the real cause of death in the world is sin but the remedy for that cause is the gift of God in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ because of His sacrifice on the cross.

  • Let Us Watch & Be Sober
Christ is building a pure heart and a sincere faith in all believers in relation to their keeping all of His commandments. You must take heed, and watch and pray that these good things of righteousness, holiness, and truth are protected and kept. Guard your heart, protect your mind, and fortify your spirit. Watch and pray against sin. Sin would break in, but you need not let him when you have the power of Christ with you, in your heart, to help you stand your guard-duty. This is where I believe many Christians are not watching rightly. It is not just that we need to watch against the thief's intrusion into our hearts, but it is that we will watch against him successfully when we deliberately cultivate fellowship with Christ in our hearts. Yes, it is true that our Lord does appear to "leave us to ourselves", leave us in order to test us to see what is in our hearts, but He never actually leaves us, nor will He ever forsake us in the day of evil, or in the day of trial and testing. But the interesting thing about verse 43 in Matthew 24 is that Christ Himself is the thief in that parable, and you are the master of the house. "Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming." The Coming of the Lord is said to be like a thief in the night because of the suddenness of it.

  • Sharpened Shepherding
As members of Christ's church, both seeing yourselves as a united family together in Christ, and then walking as family with one another in love and peace, can't be overstated. (Eph. 4:11-16) For forgetting who we are in relationship with one another and how we ought to act towards one another, is an all too frequent way that Satan loves to sow division through friction that leads to isolation. And yet, there are godly relational encounters, even godly, healthy friction, so to speak, that our Lord has ordained and calls you to engage in with one another that both ministers to the pain and perceived benefits of isolation, smooths off rough edges, brings refreshment to your heart, and growth in your life, as well as that of your family and the church through sharpened shepherding.

  • The Fear of the Lord
This sermon concludes an introductory series on Proverbs by defining wisdom as knowledge applied rightly and contrasting it with the three types of foolishness: the simple, the scoffer, and the stubborn. The central theological argument establishes that God alone is the source of all wisdom, as evidenced by passages in Romans, 1 Corinthians, and Colossians. The preacher emphasizes that the 'fear of the Lord' is not mere comfort but a reverent awe of God's holiness, which serves as the necessary starting point for true understanding. This attitude of reverence leads to repentance and regeneration, where God grants a clean heart and the joy of salvation. Finally, the sermon outlines the means by which wisdom is received: through God's authoritative Scripture and by asking Him in faith, without doubt, as instructed in James.
