On a trip to Thailand, everything about Sam Bloom's life changed. She broke her back in a fall and had to spend months in hospital.

The time in hospital was very difficult and Sam says that coming home was, perhaps, worse.

But Sam's life began to change again when her family adopted a injured magpie they called Penguin. Looking after the bird helped Sam on road to recovery, and her story travelled around the world.
