Laurel has been busy serving others as a marriage and family therapist for 24 years. She began specializing in trauma 8 years ago. She has trained clinicians both nationally and internationally in therapeutic modalities to treat trauma.
On her journey of treating trauma, she realized she could also treat people outside of the clinical setting who were stuck and limited by old responses to past negative life events.
This led her to work with high performing individuals in the corporate, sports and healthcare arenas, to name a few. She is the author of "Betrayed, Not Broken", a book dealing with the trauma of infidelity.
She is also the owner of Lighthouse Counseling in Groton, CT, a group practice, as well as the founder of Optimal Outcome, a coaching and consulting business. She is a collaborator and contributor to the recently developed therapy model of Critical Memory Integration.
She is also an expert contributor to national outlets such as Newsweek and the Chicago Times. Laurel offers corporate workshops and training, is a presenter at conferences, consults with clinicians, and works 1:1 with individuals who desire to elevate their performance by eliminating the effect and impact of triggers, negative life events and trauma.
