Paul concludes the chapter on marriage and divorce by turning our attention the highest priority which is serving God. Whether married or single, it is the first priority of any Christian to attend to matters of eternal consequence.

The end of marriage is a difficult event but God has given specific instruction on what circumstances warrant the death of the covenant of marriage. These instructions are narrow in definition in order to protect the sanctity of marriage and provide the greatest opportunity for reconciliation before any divorce.

The most difficult of circumstances today is when marriages fail and divorce results. While there are many factors that influence the Christian in regards to divorce, it is important to start with exploring what the Bible actually says about divorce before anything is applied to circumstances.
