Experts across many fields are agreeing that IQ (Intelligence Quotient) is no longer the best test to predict a person's future success, but rather their EQ (Emotional Quotient) 

the Bible says that we are made in God's image and God is a relational being. God wants to nurture and develop our EQ. Our EQ measures our emotional and relational health. 

We need a strong EQ to fulfill The Great Commandment! "Love the Lord your God with all your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: Love your neighbor as yourself. Matthew 22: 37-39

How we treat our own heart is how we'll treat the hearts of our neighbors. If you love others like you love yourself would you be a good neighbor? 

We pursue God and learn His heart for us and how He loves us. He teaches us how to love ourselves and be kind to ourselves. That love will spill over into how we treat others.

Last night was the first presidential debate (which means you'll want to stay off of social media for a while 🤣) so today I want to encourage you to go to God's word and remember that God ordained government, he deposes kings and raises up others, and he works through government to advance His kingdom.

Last week we celebrated Memorial Day in remembrance of all the people who have fought and died for our freedom. 

This raised a question for me as I studied Matthew 5:39. 

Jesus says that getting even is not the way to follow Him, but instead "turn the other cheek." 

This made me wonder, how do I know when to turn the other cheek (and what does that really mean) and when to take a stand like those who fought for our country.
