In early February, Mujeres Indígenas por el Buen Vivir hosts a climate camp at Mapuche Lof Pillañ Mahuiza in Argentina. On October 1 st , the Town of Carbondale Board of Trustees voted unanimously to recognize the second Monday in October as Indigenous Peoples' Day, rather than Columbus Day. The new event was inaugurated by historian and former Northern Ute Tribal Chairman Roland McCook, accompanied by drummers and dancers from the Ute Mountan Ute Tribe located in southwest Colorado.
