Parsha ‘Toldot’ (Genesis 25:19:1 through 28:9) details the life of the patriarch Yitzak (Isaac) after his marriage, the birth of their twins, and then perhaps one of the more “problematic” deceptions in Scripture.

The Erev Shabbat reading lays it out:

And offten, the focus of the midrash for this parsha tends to be the drama of Yakov evidently lying to his father Yitzak, while impersonating his brother Esau. But just how great was that deception, really, and how does the context matter?

But Mark suggests the story only begins with, ‘what did Yitzak know, and when did he know it?’

We know that there is a conflict described here that is still raging.

And what seems to be all-too-often “glossed over” or even just ignored, is, “what is that birthright?”

Parsha ‘Chayei Sarah’ (Genesis 23:1 through 25:18) is called the “Life of Sarah,” but that literally is only the beginning. Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa contends that it is THE primary portion in Scripture when it comes to stories that are ‘precedents’ for what are literally the backbone of the Common Law, from the very standard for contract, to the first recorded property deed in human history, to marriage, and to “agency”, or what it means to “come in the Name of” the Master.

Today, not only does “lawlessness abound,” but so many of the foundations are being destroyed that we do have to look at some even broader questions.

Why did Abraham want a wife for his son from, well, a better family that he knew was available there, where he had already concluded “there is no fear of Elohim” in that land?

But this parsha begins and ends with death, and then connects things that form the heart of a free society.

Can it even exist without some degree of trust?

They include phrases that – no coincidence – appear throughout the narrative.

And they both bear on a question that MUST be asked today, because when he was pressed about why he told the Philistine king Abimelech that his wife Sarah was actually his sister, he admitted that the reason was because, “there is NO fear of Elohim” in this place.

It was arguably true of Sodom and Gomorrah, and, as Yahuah told Abraham AFTER the Akieda, the point of his test as well.

The rest of the story hinges on that. And it applies now.

This is also a story that is so foundational that we might tend to ‘blur’ some of the details, but it is important to understand “what did he know, and when did he know it?” when we study the connections.

The Sabbath day study begins with a reminder that there is “no idle word,” in Scripture, and that the elements we are told may cause us to wonder, “why is this element of the story important?”

And that is particularly true since Abraham is at the heart of several of the most “controversial” aspects of modern teachings that twist that “faith” in order to support what Mark contends is probably THE Biggest Lie that is Never IN Scripture: that ‘the Law’ has been ‘done away with.’

But, after all – do we “believe YHVH” or just believe IN Him?

By essentially every metric, on every front – economic, social, political, legal, spiritual, and even military, the United States of now-AmeriKa is being destroyed.

And it’s arguably true that collapse is now inevitable.

So it’s time to take a hard look at what we can discern about how it will play out. And what that means, for “such a time as this.”

The Sabbath day study must include what is happening now that may parallel another prelude to yet another judgment on the whole earth, this time perhaps by fire. But unlike that first ‘Great Reset,’ this one the Creator did Himself. In many of the other Scriptural examples of judgment against a kingdom, He used pagan invaders as “destroyers.”

There are no shortages of candidates on THAT front, this time!

But what AmeriKans seem utterly clueless about this time, is that the invaders are already in place. DHS’s own figures show that over 100,000 (yes, that one HUNDRED THOUSAND) male individuals of military age, with known terrorist connections have actually ALREADY been released within the United States, and have had ample time to join up with terror cells in preparation for what is obviously being allowed. Arguably much like Hamas was simply allowed to terminally fool what was once considered one of the greatest intelligence forces on earth in Israel.

Given what a few did there, across the most secure border in the world, in only a few hours where it looked just like Texas or Arizona, imagine what thousands of invaders EACH and EVERY day for two years will be able to accomplish.

It’s time to take a closer look at the lessons in this Book.

How can so many things that are “statistically impossible” happen so…routinely?

And how can people fall for all of it?

Yahushua in Matthew 24 says “be not deceived,” more than once, for a good reason. And it’s rapidly getting to be too late.

This portion Begins with what was once probably about the most fundamental, self-evident Truth know to Mankind, er, Adam-kind. ANd yet there is SO much more.

But what is perhaps most striking THIS time around is what has been done, Mark would say deliberately, to that Truth. So much of what is here could have been called, the Simple Stuff:

– In the Beginning, Elohim created (literally ‘from NOTHING’!) ‘the heavens and the earth.’

– Male and Female He created them.

– And there was an order to all of it, and He even knew the end from that Beginning.

But now, even the simple stuff has been twisted. There was some “ambiguous” stuff, as well, perhaps even some confusing stuff. But today, much of what is so perfectly laid out here has become the Hated Stuff. And, given recent events in particular, there are even Truths in here that have become UNTHINKABLE Stuff.

It’s time to take a hard look at things you wont hear in sun-god-day skool. Because it really is a matter of Life and Death.
