Just a reading of this Torah portion should give a person a longing for His Kingdom here in earth. Righteousness and justice seem to be so far from our society but they are the foundation for His. Can a bad translation of one word change a perspective of life? Yes it can!

There is a light at the end of the funnel. It is not the light of a freight train, but rather the light of His Kingdom. How we choose to live today determines whether we are significant or insignificant in the process of His Kingdom approaching. Difficult decision are just part of the process.

We are not told to bless things in Scripture, but rather to bless the Elohim which has provided. Understanding why He gives is more important than we may realize and may even hinder His giving. A strong word to fathers regarding our calling to be mirrors of The Father. Most know the importance of the 9th of AV, but what about the 15th of Av?

The last words of Moses before he makes that fateful walk become the words of the Book of Words. Were these words under the direction of Yah or was it Moshe’s idea? Either way, a summary of history prepares the people for their destination.

Wrong priorities lead to wrong decisions which may lead future generations to a place that they were not originally destined for. The stops of the Hebrews can be likened to chapters in our lives today. Each one has a start and a finish that when combined make a complete story.

One can only be zealous for the right thing if they know what the right thing is. The right thing is found in a Scripture which has the same theme in the end that it does in the beginning. That theme will not be found in modern day prophets for hire, but by time spent in The Book itself.

In the days of the wilderness there were many voices trying to lead the people back. Times have really not changed much. We must set our focus on what lies ahead. Seeking Godly anointing instead of man’s outward appearance is vital.

This Torah portion has it all. Lack of faith, complaining, grumbling, rebellion and a desire to go back where they came from. Before we point fingers, it may be a good time for a look in the mirror. Just remember that those who focused on giants became bird food. We can do better, but will we?
