1. Points to Christ—“There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. He came as a witness, to bear witness about the light, that all might believe through him.” John 1:6-7
2. Pinpoints the Gospel “The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, ‘Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!...And I have seen and have borne witness that this is the Son of God.’” John 1:29, 34
3. Takes Pleasure in Christ— “The one who has the bride is the bridegroom. The friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly at the bridegroom's voice. Therefore this joy of mine is now complete.” John 3:29
4. Promotes Christ – “He must increase, but I must decrease.” John 3:30
