Logan and Jono give their Lovecraft recommendation of the week before jumping into recapping episode 3 of Lovecraft Country, Ghost Story. With our protagonists back in Chicago and trying to decompress from the events in Ardham, Leti buys a sanctuary house that is both haunted by spirits, and starts getting terrorized by her white neighbors. This self contained ghost story episode is another fascinating chapter in the postmodern look at Lovecraftian ideas.

We break down the imagery and symbolism of the ceremony to open a gate to the Garden of Eden, the three delusions the Braithwhites put on our trio, Tic following his ancestor through the burning mansion, and how so many of the major mysteries have already been solved so early on in the show. Logan and Jono are back to discuss Lovecraft horror, modern adaptations and the brilliant new HBO series 'Lovecraft Country'. We start with our history with Lovecraft stories, and how we need to look at the whole picture with Lovecraft's horror sub-genre he created while also understanding he was a highly problematic, racist man. Therein lies the brilliance of using his concepts to feature in a black story about a man finding his father during the Jim Crow era. We recap the episode by discussing the themes presented along with some of the minor details you may have missed! We're super excited to be chatting about this series every week and hope you follow along!
