Discussing undereating to overtraining. Or having pins and needles and pushing through it. Getting injured for an athlete can feel like we have been stripped of our identity. Who are we if we can’t train? (I understand that one personally very well).
In this video I also discuss why resting is hard for us athletes to get our heads around, plus I discuss some ways to overcome it and how some of my clients have gone from being injured and incredibly stressed to now
training again and enjoying their lives...

I had a mature client who was fighting her body and unhappy. She was eating and training the same but didn’t feel good about herself as she wasn’t seeing the results with her body or performance that she used to in the past.
Fast forward one month after working with me and physically she’s lost 2 inches off her waist. Her biggest win, she will tell you is the improvement in how she feels.
Plus I also discuss muscle imbalances and how to fix them.
Becoming efficient when riding or rowing comes from correcting muscle imbalances and moving really well. I’ll give you some examples of what I mean when it comes to creating a smooth pedal stroke and effortless speed

A story of 3 clients. A high performing athlete and two normal people who just loved their endurance sport but couldn't do it due to pain.
You might be surprised how many times a client comes to me for the physical performance or an injury and we end up solving it through many levels of stress management and mental tactics (it often is a mental game, as the body and the mind work together).
Client 1: Was unable to release her stress through running due to injury.
What can we do for stress relief when we don't have running or any exercise for that matter?
She was feeling stressed all the time due to work and life pressures, and not being able to train due to injury. Fast forward to now feeling healthy, training again and in control. I share what we did together to get her to this place.
Client 2: Was getting increasingly frustrated with herself as she could no longer cycle and play with her young son because her back and neck pain was getting increasingly worse.
She too was stressed and we soon realised the stress was increasing her pain.
Now she rides effortlessly and enjoys playing with her son.
Client 3: Was the endurance athlete plagued with recurring injuries over her 20 year career. It turns out she was under-eating (yes that is a thing and the solution wasn't about simply 'increasing her calories' either). I explain to you how she has turned her aching back and her body around.. and now performs much better and enjoys her training again.
I also discuss why it's so important to assess each person's body before prescribing exercises.

My story of how I was motivated to become a personal trainer, plus many stories of injuries where I have pushed myself way past my limits, causing damage. Learning from it and here I am still competing today and working around / finding the best solutions for my body and my client's bodies. No matter your age or injury you can train and stay healthy.
I always say, a healthy athlete is a fast athlete.
