Have Gun Will Travel was a western series that actually began on television first, and then radio. It usually went the other way around. Richard Boone starred at the TV Paladin with John Dehner taking the role in the radio version. Though the character had the same name, because of each of the actor's interpretation of Paladin, they were very different. Dehner was more compassionate ... always trying to avoid violence if he could. It was an excellent series heard on the CBS Radio Network between November 23, 1958, and November 27, 1960 producing 106 episodes. Tom Drake plays Young's role in the radio adaptation but Laughton and a 7 year old Margaret O'Brien recreate their film roles.
