Most everyone at one time or another has either believed in a superstition or known someone who does... but how did these superstitions come about? What is the origin of superstitions? Those are the questions this 1935 series attempted to answer. They did detailed and thorough researched and then dramatized their findings to explain the origin of some of the most popular superstitions of the time... many of which are still part of our culture.

Two back to back skits edited on one track. Before Fannie Brice got her own show, she and "Daddy Higgins" (Harlow Wilcox) performed skits on the Maxwell House Coffee Time show with host Don Ameche. This track features two skits from that program. The first is "Measles" when Daddy rushes home because he is sure Snooks has the Measles... and the second skit is "Baseball Game" Daddy takes Snooks to her first baseball game... and probably her last! :) Always fun to listen to these skits as Fannie Brice's vocalization skills are incredible. A very popular series which produced 50 episodes between 1946 and 47. Organ music is outstanding as are the actors, writers, and sound effects technicians.
