"And they say this horrible thing and so I want nothing to do with them. And. And what's amazing about this thing though, is that you can see the nuances and complexities in individuals and also recognize the nuances and complexities in yourself. Nothing has to be cut and dry, neat and tidy, binary in its definition, in its categories, in its explanation. None of it, right? There can be conflicting things that coexist in the same space."

"They're going to run into a brick wall at some point because they've leaned too heavily into the optimization processes of algorithms and statistics and dollar signs, etc. And finally recognizing that they need more of the messy, gritty humanness to be able to achieve their goals. And so then maybe, maybe it'll nudge it back. Maybe. And perhaps this is a bit idealized. I definitely need to think about this some more. But it shifts my thinking of."

So it very much became marriage about passing on of ownership. And so you've got those kinds of concepts, you've got the transactional agreements between two parties, right? You've also got some governments who thought it would be really important to make sure that your citizens continue to reproduce."

"What happened is then when you think about people who want to keep and maintain and increase power, you can't martyr everyone. The teachings that he, Jesus was sharing were catching. And so what do you do when that happens? You can't wipe out everybody because this is too far reaching. So then you neutralize the belief. They decided that it was important to instead of the complex shades and flavors of Christianity that existed at the time."

"I want to, I want to find a greater connection with it. Ask the questions I hadn't been permitted in some cases, or ask them in a different way and really just understand things better to sort of give myself a stronger reconnection, if you will. Because so much had been disrupted in my life at that point. Surprisingly, that is what brought me out of the faith. It wasn't some tragic event. It wasn't whatever people say it is that brings people out of the faith."

"But I find myself today all of a sudden realizing that I am experiencing conflicted desires and they're all self inflicted. They're my own desires at war with my own desires. And I'm like, what are you doing? And I've experienced this for some time now where I want to be a part of online conversations in live audio spaces. And, and that's different than doing asynchronous. And I think there's value to both. But I want to be a part of the live conversations."

"One of them they had brought down and they were cleaning out so this little baby bird tried to escape and they would catch it and bring it back, cleaned it all up, put the birdie back inside and then I didn't get to see when they put it back up again. But there were so many tiny little birds at these big, big bird houses as well as like the whole place is full of bird houses. They're everywhere. So Birds everywhere. They had goats. They just."

"And it's interesting to look at how those dynamics, I think there's a parallel there between the classroom and childhood and how we are as adults, like as kids, the, the students were thinking about me, thinking myself better, that is a know it all. Or kissing up to the teacher to perhaps place myself ahead of them when those concepts were not even on my radar. It was quite literally, if you know the answer, raise your hand."

"Like, if we don't acknowledge how these things go hand in hand, then we can set ourselves up for trouble down the line, right? Because either we're ignoring the emotions and feelings. I'm using these words interchangeably and I know not everybody does, but that's what I'm doing. Then we will not take the time to learn about what they're informing us of or how to regulate those emotions and feelings. Right. It's."
