  • Fallen, Fallen is Babylon
This sermon examines the three oracles in Isaiah 21, focusing on the fall of Babylon and the necessity of trusting in God rather than political alliances. The central message urges believers to adopt the posture of the prophet Isaiah, combining lion-like courage in faithful witness with a deep, sorrowful concern for the lost who face God's judgment. The text highlights the tension of the Christian life, described as a cycle of 'mornings' and 'nights,' where suffering is met with the discipline of patience and the persistent return to God in prayer. By contrasting the fleeting security of worldly powers with the sovereign rule of the Lord, the sermon calls the audience to 'come out of Babylon,' rejecting the temptation to rely on human systems for safety. Ultimately, it points to Jesus Christ as the only one who resisted the power of Babylon, offering true salvation and victory over death and hell to those who trust in Him.

  • And Is Withered
When the Lord Jesus Christ says "in me" (John 15:6), does He mean a man who believes, or a man only hanging on the outside? Read "At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me" (John 14:20), and ask who the "ye" are. Then ask how a man falls from an apostleship he never had, when Peter says "Judas by transgression fell" (Acts 1:25). "If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned." (John 15:6)

  • Why Did You Get Saved?
As Christians, we should all know how to get "saved". It's our faith in what Jesus did for us. His blood paid for all our sins. He was crucified on the cross, died and was buried in a tomb. Three days later He rose from the dead. This is our Gospel for today. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 as revealed to Paul by Jesus Himself. BUT...why did you get saved? What led you to believe? Fear of hell? Desire of heaven? Personal Crisis? You realized you had no place else to go? Answering this question may be harder than you think. Reminder, not asking "how" but "why".

  • Salt and Fire
"Salt is good, but if it loses its saltiness, how can you make it salty again? Have salt among yourselves, and be at peace with each other."
