Fay Makantasi, Research Director of Dianeosis, www.dianeosis.org explains the main challenge that Greece is having - demographic  problem - and the main opportunities - senior & therapeutic tourism.

A Zoom panel discussion about the record  state of venture capital in Greece, which is fueling activity in life  sciences, retail and agritech. According to a report from Found.ation  and EIT Digital, over €500 million in funding was invested in over 70  startups in 2021. Of six exits, three were in the all-time top 10 list  for value. Notably, Greece now lays claim to its first “unicorn”  startups: PeopleCert, Blueground and Viva Wallet. With The Greek  government pledging €200 million for further startup activity, where is  this all heading?

They will provide their own perspective on how the government can continue to drive Greece forward. A conversation about the Greek government’s plans for digitization with Kyriakos Pierrakakis, Minister of State and Digital Governance, Hellenic Republic.

Minister Pierrakakis, a graduate of Harvard Kennedy School and MIT, is radically simplifying citizen interactions with the government, from birth through license, marriage and other life transitions, by streamlining access to this data and increasing its utility. The Greek government will issue by the end of 2021 a new digital identity card to allow citizens to access digital services with security, and Greece ranks second among EU member-states in bandwidth concession for 5G telecommunication network licenses.

The discussion will be moderated by Michalis Bletsas, Director of Computing at MIT Media Lab and introduced by Alexandra Papadopoulou, Ambassador of Greece to the United States.
