The Center for Nonprofit Strategy and Management and the Manhattan Borough President Scott M. Stringer present a social media workshop for nonprofits: Using Twitter and Technology to Create Long Lasting Relationships.

James Krauskopf, Director of the Center for Nonprofit Strategy and Management, makes the opening remarks. President Stringer urges nonprofits to diversify their ability to reach new donors through the use of social media and technology. Linda Felstein from President Stringer's office, introduces the two speakers.

Professor Kyra D. Gaunt, a 2009 TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design) Fellow and Associate Professor at Baruch College, discusses the use of twitter, and the importance of technology in the operational and programmatic activities of an organization. Ruthellen Rubin, CRFE from Ruthellen Rubin and Associates and Professor of Technology, Fundraising and Philanthropy at NYU's Heyman Center for Philanthropy and Fundraising, speaks about how to adopt social media technological techniques to effectively develop relationships with donors, and how to translate those established relationships into fundraising opportunities.
