LeeAnn Eakins-Barkman is a clinical social worker with over 18 years of experience. She earned
a master’s degree in social work from the University of Cincinnati, College of Applied Science, a
bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Southern Indiana and a bachelor’s
degree in music performance (voice) from Murray State University.
She has extensive experience working in inpatient, outpatient, residential, emergency
psychiatry, community mental health and forensic settings. She is a trained mental health
trauma responder who specializes in trauma treatment, dual diagnosis, severe mental illness
and postpartum issues.
As an experienced Clinical Director, she has successfully developed integrated behavioral health
and substance use treatment programs and has earned the SAMHSA Science to Service Award.
LeeAnn has served as an adjunct professor for the University of Cincinnati, College of Applied
Science, has published research in the areas of dual diagnosis and welfare reform and serves as
an expert mental health content speaker to the community.
LeeAnn is a Certified Instructor and 4 th Degree Blackbelt with the Maududo Federation. She is a
current and 4 time Maududo Grand Champion and was awarded Instructor of the Year 2019.
She has competed at the national level in the World Karate and Kickboxing Commission. LeeAnn
has combined her knowledge and expertise of her passions of helping people recover from
trauma with martial arts to develop the Trauma Informed Martial Arts, TIMA program.
