Darren here.  In this episode I talk about how to help someone learn video games.  The hardest part of helping someone try video games is we all care way too much and don't want the person to make mistakes.  "If I help them and tell them, before they do something, to not do that thing.  I'll help."

But that is the totally opposite thing to do.  Just, be quiet.  Watch them play, watch them figure it out on their own.  Yeah, they will make mistakes, but that is okay.  Mistakes are how we learn.  You, who knows how to play video games, learned by making mistakes too.

So, let them fail, and try again.  Just, be there for them.  Help them get past a difficult part, offer advice when they ask.
