Darren here.  In this episode I talk about how to help someone learn video games.  The hardest part of helping someone try video games is we all care way too much and don't want the person to make mistakes.  "If I help them and tell them, before they do something, to not do that thing.  I'll help."

But that is the totally opposite thing to do.  Just, be quiet.  Watch them play, watch them figure it out on their own.  Yeah, they will make mistakes, but that is okay.  Mistakes are how we learn.  You, who knows how to play video games, learned by making mistakes too.

So, let them fail, and try again.  Just, be there for them.  Help them get past a difficult part, offer advice when they ask.

Hello everyone.  I am here with another episode.  Today's episode took a turn.  Not a turn for the worst.  Just, a turn.  I was planning on an episode that sounded like episode 1.  That didn't happen.  This episode was more slow, and calm.  Less, running around and trying to fit as much as possible in 30 minutes.

I was hesitant to not post this episode.  Originally the episode number was "EpisodeX".  I planned to make another episode directly after recording this one.  That recording was episode 2.  Two thoughts stopped me from recording the "real" second episode.

1. I was tired of talking.
2. This is an experiment.  Lets experiment with different styles.

What was "Episode X" is now "Episode 2".

I take many pauses.  The pauses are for dramatic effect and for body language.  Can't see my body language though.

After editing the transcript, twice, I realized I say "Right?" and "like" a lot.  I talk in run-on sentences.  I usually don't specify the subject.  I left notes in the transcription.  The notes help explain my thought process and to point out subjects.

Speaking of the transcript.  I edited out as many "Ums" and "rights", the "likes" as I could.  The transcript does not match the audio 100% because the transcript made no sense.  I removed some lines and changed some words to make the transcript readable.

I do hope you enjoy this episode.  

Below are just some thoughts I had while recording.

I was thinking of having the hero say "Yes I do" a third time and then making a joke conversation between the old man and the hero where the hero only says "Yes I do".  This happened between the second "Yes I do" and "Thank you"

The character I'm talking about for the final boss fights is Jerin and the magic is mirror.

I'm humming part of the dungeon song from Lufia II while I look up Selans name.

Next time I'll watch a youtube video of a game I don't remember much before recording.  I got some things wrong.  Mostlyt the order of events.

Remember, the Fortress of Doom is floating above a large body of water.

About Lufia falling into the water.  When recording I clapped loudly when I said "Boom" to emphasise the impact.  The clap was loud and strtaling.  Even during editing I was startled
and I knew it was coming.  I reduced the volume to prevent the clap for getting too loud.  That is why it sounds weird.

Creeping mendacity. Let's talk about that.  In the duty "The Pretorium" one person, who I won't mention by name to prevent spoilers has a monolouge about Eaorzia.  In this speech they say "Creeping mendacity".

Just.  I've heard this speech so many times.  About a year ago I played this dungeon over, and over, and over again to get MGP vouchers.
