  • Fighting To Highlight The Injustices And Speak The Truth About Cannabis
Today on Hempresent our host Vivian Mcpeak is joined by Simpa Carter of The Durham city cannabis club. DCCC was founded on July 1st 2016 following the Product Earth expo in Peterborough by Simpa. He attended the event and subsequently met many of the inspiring people and like-minded individuals who've been in the cannabis activism scene for many years fighting to highlight the injustices, speak the truth about cannabis and work towards the relegalisation of cannabis here in the UK. Having discovered the existence of the UKCSC (United Kingdom Cannabis Social club) and speaking to its founder and other club administrators our Simpa decided to found DCCC just a week later. The early days of the club was focused on designing the clubs first the main logo, setting up our social media and researching and contacting other clubs and activists to find out what they were up to on the local and national level to see how DCCC should go about conducting its activism work and develop as a club.

  • A Less Addictive Remedy For Pain
Today on Hempresent Vivian is joined by Army veteran Steven Passmore. Passmore is part of an internship for veterans at THC Design in Los Angeles. THC Design is a cannabis grow that focuses on environmentally conscious growing practices in order to reduce their carbon footprint using various methods. It’s estimated that 3 percent of all electricity consumption in California is from indoor grows. In addition to difficulties making ends meet after serving in iraq, Passmore faced another, perhaps graver concern. The former soldier was in severe pain after breaking his clavicle in Iraq, and was prescribed “a bunch of pills”, including opiates, as a solution. Seeking a less addictive remedy for pain, Passmore decided to try medical marijuana

  • Music Distribution Through Marijuana
Today on Hempresent Vivian Mcpeak is joined by Co-founder of Hi-Tunes Scott Mckinley. Hi-Tunes is music distribution through marijuana. They are giving artists their own branded marijuana lines to push. If they do well with joints and participate with stores in our Washington market, they will put out more products on that artist’s line, and they can get really creative and fun. McKinley started Hi-Tunes after finding success with his record label, Cavigold Records, and noticing how seamlessly cannabis and music blend together. The label was co-founded by Mike Brunson, owner of the premium cannabis line Caviar Gold. After several years promoting shows throughout North America and Europe, McKinley realized that legal weed was a perfect way to promote up and coming artists—offer a song and a joint that will work together to bring your high to the next level.

  • Utah Pain Patient Enedina Stanger And Surviving Hospice with Cannabis
Today on Hempresent Vivian McPeak is joined by Utah pain patient Enedina Stanger. Enedina Stanger stayed behind in the parking lot while her two young daughters were shopping with their father in South Weber, Utah. She suffers from the rare and potentially fatal genetic tissue disorder Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. She lit up a marijuana cigarette and rolled down the window of her van to let out the smoke when she was done. That’s when somebody passing by called the police, claiming Enedina was smoking in front of her daughters, who by then had returned to the parking lot with their father, Mike Stanger.

Enedina was booked and released from the Weber County Jail and charged with third-degree felony child endangerment and misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance. The felony was later dropped and a judge ordered probation instead of jail time, but the incident has thrown the Utah homemaker’s life into a whirlwind of frustrations.

Vivian also speaks with Meagan Holt, a Parent of cannabis patient child named Maddie, and her story of her daughter ended up Surviving Hospice with the help of Cannabis Oil. Last year, Meagan and Brandon Holt’s daughter, who suffers from a rare and debilitating disease called Zellweger Syndrome, was given only a short time to live, and her family was forced to do what no family can ever imagine – put a 2-year-old in Hospice care.

Maddie is deaf and blind, and entirely dependent upon round the clock medical care. Prior to being placed in Hospice care, Maddie developed life-threatening horrific seizures which sent her health into a downward spiral. But then something amazing happened. Meagan began researching the effects of cannabis on intractable, or untreatable epilepsy. She found one last hope, cannabis. Being in Washington state, where medical and recreational marijuana is legal, Meagan got authorization, and then a beautiful group of people began donating whole plant cannabis extract to their family.
