The Ten Commandments are like slogans; they may be short and catchy, but they should make us think deeply. The Eighth Commandment invites us to think deeply about our own possessions and those of our neighbor. What we do with what God has entrusted to us and to others reveals a lot about our hearts.

Some people have described the Christian life as being lived "coram Deo" (before the face of God). What does that mean, and how does it impact the way we relate to God and to the world? Today we use this old phrase to help us think through what Peter means when he tells us that we should always be prepared to explain the hope that is in us.
