The southbound lanes on South Laburnum Avenue and a portion of Thornhurst Street near Jacob L. Adams Elementary School will close overnight Monday and Tuesday for waterline maintenance. The new Quioccasin Middle School building, set to open in the summer of 2027, will be three stories and feature an innovation lab with outdoor learning spaces, an outdoor courtyard, and more new amenities. Henrico School Board members approved the schematic design for the rebuild of Quioccasin Middle Oct. 10, with the total project estimated to cost million using funds from the county's 2022 bond referendum. The Dorey Park Farmers Market will host a hula hoop dance party this Saturday, Oct. 12, at 11 a.m. to celebrate the life of Rick McNeil, a member of the market community who died.
