The driver who killed one cyclist and injured another on the Osborne Turnpike in eastern Henrico County last summer pleaded guilty to three felony charges in Henrico Court on Monday. Jeffrey Brooks, who was 18 years old when he killed cyclist Jonah Holland in August 2022, faces up to 31 years in prison when he is sentenced in October. The weeklong program, founded in 1947, aims to shape future leaders through hands-on experiences in government and public service. A camp in Central Virginia is working to change the face of the construction industry. The National Association of Women in Construction's (NAWIC) Richmond branch held a day camp for middle school girls at Henrico's Adult Learning Center in Regency Mall, to teach them the ins and outs of the industry. Students at RVA's Camp NAWIC got hands-on experiencing using science and math to complete projects during the week, like building their own HVAC system and testing soil. Surveillance video shows the suspected car of the drive-by shooter who opened fire in an Eastern Henrico neighborhood Friday night, according to neighbors. Police said it happened just after 7:20 p.m. along Carmen Lane off Nine Mile Road when a silver-colored sedan was followed into the neighborhood by what neighbors described as either a black Dodge Charger or a black Ford Mustang. It isn’t unheard of in Virginia for patients to go days without access to certain prescribed medications, if the order was written by a physician assistant. However, a petition to remove a regulatory requirement that members of the medical industry say is primarily responsible for the delays is being considered by the Virginia Board of Medicine during its next meeting in August.
