Ares, God of War, is the official bully of Mount Olympus, a cry baby with anger management issues, and the head of a gang of miscreants and malcontents who cause no end of trouble to the rest of us poor earthlings. Thank goodness this episode is a short one.
Pan, the god of nature, loves the nymph Echo, Echo loves Narcissus, and Narcissus loves...Narcissus. Thrown in a quarreling (aren't they always) Zeus and Hera, a strange curse, and a glassy pond into which Narcissus can gaze at his beloved, and you've got a love triangle for the (classical) ages.
After a two month break to let the gods get their Christmas shopping done, Henry and Lala return with the story of the gentle god of fire, smiths, forges, and sculpture, Hephaestus, his lovely if reluctant wife, the goddess of love, Aphrodite, and her mischievous arrow slinging son, Eros.
No burps or battles in episode four, but we do have monsters, dragons, love, jealousy, trickery, therianthropy, polygamy, one supremely ticked off goddess.
Zeus must outwit Cronus, defeat the Titans, avoid getting eaten by a part of horrible monsters, and placate an angry Mother Earth before he can take sit on the highest throne on Mount Olympus.
The story of the Greek gods and Zeus really gets going in this episode as Zeus's mother protects him from Cronus. Soon Zeus will grow big and strong enough to rule over Mount Olympus and the world!
In the first season of Henry and LaLa Present Myths, we'll be telling you the stories of the ancient Greek Gods and heroes and the humans on earth who got caught up in their adventures and battles. Episode one goes back to the very beginning of time, where we meet Zeus's grandparents--Mother Earth and Father Sky--and their children, the mighty Titans, the one-eyed giant cyclopses, and a mess of other horrible monsters.
