She realizes that her relationship ended for a reason, and it seems that getting to know Doctor Payten is just what she needed!
Knox Payten has experienced more than his fair share of trauma and loss, both as a surgeon and as a lieutenant in the military. Death for him will always bring a flood of memories. He longs for freedom from the memories that haunt him.
Can Lucy help Knox heal from his traumas, and find the freedom that he desires? Can Knox give Lucy the love and safety that she deserves?

Her trauma doctor
First off I want to say I loved the actual story of Knox and Lucy. I enjoy reading these medical romance stories and this one was especially poignant as it dealt with PTSD and the impact it had on soldiers coming back from military trying to face unspeakable horror like Knox did with his men. I got teary eyed as he tried to justify why he was doing what he did, saving lives to right the wrong of the lives lost under his command. I can't even imagine that kind of pain. I thought at times Lucy was a bit pushy, but that pushiness ended up being a strength. I'm glad they ended up together.
That all being said I want to say I was extremely disappointed in the poor grammar and editing. Doesn't seem like there was any editing done. Way too many ridiculous grammar errors and poor editing. Why aren't these books edited before they go live? Poor grammar and spelling is a huge pet peeve of mine. I gave it three stars because I loved the story, otherwise I wouldn't have even bothered. If the author's other books are as poorly edited I won't even bother reading them. These poorly edited books reflect poorly on authors who write these stories. Amazon has to do a better job with editing. It's a big turnoff.
A Little Gem!
A very good book and a lovely story. Very good character development!
Good
the men and wamen in this story is one that shows what people in the medical professionals in hospitals go thru daily.
So much fun! In this day and age
So much fun! In this day and age, it's nice to be able to escape and just be distracted with good ol' drama/romance! I work in the medical field and there were some uncanny and accurate details that are conveyed in this story, but enough fantasy and fun to make it worthwhile to listen/read on my off hours!
Drawn in immediately
Was a very good story. I like a lot of medical detail. This started off right away in the very beginning with high tension and held me captive all through. Not too much emotional drama. Very well written. The characters were easy to like.
