Life is full of transitions. Today, just a few days after we have celebrated Christmas we "are back to the normal grind". But Christmas does not need to end!

The "season" of giving never really ends - and we have seen through Christ's teachings that the more we give, the more room we have opened to receive. The Christmas season may be coming to a close, but Pastor Dan encourages us to continue to give and receive.

There is no question that these are the some of the darkest days of the year; particularly here in Northern Wisconsin. December 21st, just a few days ago marks our shortest day of the year. So isn't it interesting that we celebrate Christmas during these dark days?

But the good news is that Christmas day marks the celebration of the Light of the World; the arrival of our Lord and Savior - sent to a place of darkness to be the piercing light that gives us hope.

May your Christmas be filled with the promise of this Light, may your heart be filled with His love.

Are you ready for Christmas? This week Pastor Doug helps us to prepare for the arrival of Christmas by trusting God and his timing.

Joy and the experience of joy have very little to do with what is around us, or what we surround ourselves with. In face, joy is very difficult for us to find on our own; because joy is a gift from God. It is up to us to receive and choose joy.

Joy is often found through giving - through being there for one another. As Christ has taught us: We will never find joy in living for ourselves first and others second.

During this time of Advent, my we all find peace, happiness, and Joy through being there for others.

Whenever we think our lives are in despair, feeling lost and abandoned, it can become our reality. But the reality is that we have likely fallen asleep and away from God's love.

The danger we face is when we enter chapters of darkness, our it takes time for our eyes to adjust. Let Advent be that reminder and awakening that we are the light of the world - through and because of Him. Be alert. Keep awake. God is with us.
