 Bruce Lee said, "Don't pray for an easy life, pray for the strength to endure a difficult life". He may have been talking about Scott, my guest on Episode 5. He has been sober for 13 years in which he battled cancer, was forced to file bankruptcy, had three heart attacks, and recently learned that his wife of 44 years has been diagnosed with dementia. He is a walking talking lesson on what it means to suffer well.

I've struggled with this, and Im not alone. I asked an old Friend, Mark Porterfield, to get an opinion not traditionally heard in 12 rooms for a different perspective on this and God's involvement in our lives.

This episode had two purposes. First I wanted to introduce myself, tell a little bit of my story, and explain the "why's" of this podcast. Secondly, I wanted to see if I could actually do it. 

For those of us trying to live life on a spiritual basis, I believe that life is a spiritual scavenger hunt where we are always searching for that next clue which will bring us revelation, confirmation, and more clues for our never ending search. My hunt started as a solution to chemical dependency issues and has led me down a path that has been rewarding in more ways than I could ever imagine. This journey has been both very rewarding and very frustrating for me and I know I am not alone. I'm hoping to share my path, my journey, and to learn more about the searches of others on this podcast.
