Peter Hartle was born in Germany around 1750. He immigrated to North America aboard the Minerva, departing from Rotterdam, Holland, and arrived at the Port of Philadelphia on September 17, 1771.

Jacob Andrew Yount was born June 9, 1752, in Northampton, Pennsylvania, to Johannes “John” and Anna Elizabeth (Zimmermann) Yount.

Joseph Vital St. Gemme dit Beauvais was born about 1738 in Kaskaskia, Illinois Territory, and is more commonly referred to as Vital.

Jean Baptiste Ste Gemme dit Beauvais was born at Kaskaskia to Jean Baptiste Beauvais and Marie Louise Lacroix. Jean Baptiste was one of nine sons and five daughters born to the couple.

Daniel Bartlett was born April 11, 1756, in Cumberland Rhode Island to John and Deborah (Phillips) Bartlett. He served on the ship “Alfred” commanded by Capt. John Paul Jones, entitled to prize shares of “Mellish” and brig “Active” (Connecticut Pension S12077).

Charles Ellis was born January 28, 1749, in Henrico County, Virginia to Charles and Susannah (Harding) Ellis. Charles Ellis’ first wife was Elizabeth Waters. He married his second wife, Sarah Tucker, on August 29, 1770, in Amherst County, Virginia.

Jacob Wheat was born on November 15, 1760, in Frederick County, Maryland and is the son of Conrad Wheat. The family moved to Ohio County, Virginia, in about 1770.

Leonard Welker was probably born in Germany around 1750. Welker was married to Catherine Edlinger and, by 1771, they lived on the Pennsylvania frontier in Northumberland County, which is present-day Union County.

Family historians believe that John Hahs was likely born around 1755 in York County, Pennsylvania. Around 1764, his family relocated to Lincoln County, North Carolina.

David Shelby was born in Wales about 1730 to Evan and Catherine Shelby. It is thought that he was their youngest child, and it would not have been impossible that he was born after the Shelbys moved to America.
