Here Lies Amicus

There’s a feeling of finality about this episode.

Not only is 1974’s Madhouse the final Amicus horror film going under the microscope here, it’s also Gabriella’s swan song.

Amicus were always much more than horror films as we’ve already highlighted in the past and there’s many more interesting releases from Max & Milton to come…

Apart from charcter names and a slightly tweaked finale, "I, MONSTER" remains the most faithful interpretation of Stevenson's 1886 novella.

Cev & Gabriella explore this, the novella and a few of the notable silver screen adaptations along with a cat, a mouse, Victoriana and a new superhero...

Gabriela runs away from outer space things so Cev is on a call with his good friend and eminent Sci-Fi know all Gareth Preston to discuss the frankly odd double bill of 1967 films "The Terrornauts" & "They Came From Beyond Space" along with a lesser known Bowie and exceedingly good cakes...

Cev and Gabriela take a look back at 1971 and possibly the start of what would become the golden section of Amicus Films history - "THE HOUSE THAT DRIPPED BLOOD".

As always, the discussion takes in the usual subjects along with wax candies, psychiatrists and spider plants.

"They're definitely Dick Emery's teeth"

It’s Been a while and to combat some of the (tree) rot that might have set in, Cev’s joined by his good friend and returning guest Richard Higson to discuss the ‘Amicus Lite’ title - TALES THAT WITNESS MADNESS (1973).

Hold onto your top hats and Penny-farthings because there’s plenty of silliness, geekery and fabric admiration abound during the sometimes enlightened chat.
