A lyric video for "When the Goin' Got Tough," from Dallas Holm's album Good News Blues.

Lyrics:
Put my trust in a long time friend;
Said he'd be there 'til the end.
But when the goin' got tough;
When the goin' got tough;
Well my friend just slipped away,
When the goin' got tough.

Thought I'd make it by myself,
Didn't need nobody else.
But when the goin' got tough;
When the goin' got tough;
I couldn't help myself,
When the goin' got tough.

When I didn't know what to do;
When I didn't know what to say;
When I didn't think I could make it,
One more endless day.
Well, you came into my life
And your love was more than enough.
Oh, you saved me,
When the goin' got tough

Thought I'd take the money and run.
Thought that I could buy me some fun.
But when the goin' got tough;
When the goin' got tough.
I couldn't buy myself a smile,
When the goin' got tough.

In the quiet of a cold Alabama morning, God’s creation becomes a gentle reminder that He is present and still speaking. This reflection invites us to slow down, listen, and recognize how the Lord speaks through His Word, His Spirit, and the stillness we often overlook.

Take a few moments today to be still before Him and let your heart be reminded of His nearness and grace.

In this episode of the Here We Are podcast, Dallas reflects on winter storms, the needs of others, and the quiet power of persistent prayer.

Prayer isn’t about saying the right words — it’s about continuing to come to God, trusting that every prayer matters, even when the answers aren’t immediate. As Jesus taught, we are called to keep asking, keep seeking, and keep knocking.

Take a moment to reflect, pray, and be encouraged. God is at work — even when we can’t yet see it.
