Here! with Mr. Rodriguez and Mr. Becker

Back from a brief hiatus, Mr. Rodriguez and Mr. Becker are back discussing brain states. How do you deal with a student that is in their reactive brain? Do you find yourself in power struggles with students? It's important to look at the "brain state" of each student. Make sure to listen in as these two dudes dissect this further.

Today's topic is quite a topical one but Mr. Rodriguez and Mr. Becker don't go down that path! They talk about how COVID changed the way they do things in the classroom!

This episode also features their first special guest, Ms. George! Ms. George was a student teacher during the COVID shutdown and got her first job when COVID was at its height. Together, they discuss what it was like when everything shut down, what it was like to get back in the classrooms, what were the low points for them in the classroom and finally how they became better educators because of it all.

In this episode, the two dudes discuss the power of parent partnerships within schools. They speak from their own perspectives where they talk about the mistakes they've made and how they have take what they've learned to create strong parent partnerships at their school. In this episode, Mr. Becker and Mr. Rodriguez dive into the Four Quadrants of Teaching, something that was heavily researched by Mr. Becker. Together, they dive into where they fit in this while also sharing stories from their grade school days and today.

Both each sharing a story of how they got into trouble, but while connected it to how they are in their own respective roles.
