"Consider yourselves to be dead to sin and alive to God."  Romans 6:11                                         Our issue is that this new identity in Christ, this new person because of Christ, must learn to live a new way, leaving behind the selfish self, to live justly, to love mercy and to walk humbly with God our Lord.

How many times would you allow someone to keep hitting you in the face, when all you have done is offer them kindness?  Thus it goes with sin and grace.  Jesus offers kindness but will not allow Himself to be slapped by continued sin.  His grace abounds where sin is overcome.
