Heritage Anglican is in the book of Acts during Ordinary Time. This week we have part two of a three week mini-series on Stephen: Witness. We see that faithfully following Jesus will bring trouble and that trouble brings a chance to witness to the salvation of God. Stephen both challenges us to be bold in our witness and convicts us by the words of his witness.

The Holy Spirit, through the Apostles responds with wisdom and clarity to overcome this threat and continue to be a true witness to the goodness of God who shows no partiality (Deut. 10).

This week we see two always present wonders for the christian: the presence of God in his Church and the grace of God in saving us. All other temporary miracles are signs pointing to these permanent miracles.

The rulers find themselves opposing Jesus, his resurrection, and the blessings of that resurrection -- all because they crave control above all else. There is hope here for those who struggle with letting God be in control.
