While Jesus is an intercessor always, Jesus can also be our advocate. He comes alongside of us when we have sinned and brings us before the throne of God. He already has done all the legal work. We just have to admit our guilt and the way is cleared for us to fellowship once again with God.

What kind of reaction do we get from Christ when we sin-- The answer is surprising. He does not draw away from us. God may be forced to chasten us, but He draws closer to us when we sin.

The sinning believer at times may be concerned that God will permanently remove them from His presence and even His fellowship. This verse gives the believer the settled confidence that this will never happen.

Even though we are sinners, Jesus can deal with us kindly. He does not burden us with requirements to come to Him. He is easy on us as we approach Him.

Christ is our High priest. He took on human flesh and went through the same human experience we go through, yet He did not sin. He is able to help us as we go to God the Father to fellowship with Him.

What does Christ delight in-- Like a doctor delights to help a patient in their need, so Christ delights in helping a sinner. He especially enjoys helping sinners that are part of His family.
