Lament is not only personal. It should be part of the community of the church. There are ways for the church to reflect a Biblical attitude of lament in services and ministry.

After a person has been raised with Christ, their life changes. This passage in Colossians gives three of the major aspects of what is different for a believer.

Sometimes there are thoughts and habits that cannot changed. Satan has dug into our souls. God does not want those strongholds to remain. He gives help in pulling down strongholds.

The study of lament has helped us to learn the pattern of lament and learning from lament. Now in the series we look at how lament can become a part of personal, daily lives. It is something believers need to become familiar with.

John the Baptist's followers were trying to get him to magnify his ministry. They wanted him to declare his importance in comparison to Jesus. John's response is one of the greatest statements of how one should see themselves in comparison to Christ.
