Paul suddenly interrupts his greetings of the church of Rome. It was important for Paul to warn of individuals that would come and do the work of Satan in destroying a work of God. Paul gives instructions on how to treat individuals like this.

This is part two of the morning message answering some of the questions about the Stone that was foretold.

David seemed to have memorized Exodus 34-6-7 and used it in several psalms. In the previous message he used it in Psalm 86 for prayer. Here, in Psalm 103 he uses it as the center of his worship and praise. The Lord is one who knows our frame and surrounds us with compassion and mercy. He did it for David, Moses and the people of Israel, and he continues to show forth His mercy until today. He is worthy of our praise.

Most people move right past the closings of most letters of Scripture. No more so than this section of Romans where Paul greets over 25 groups of people. However, this section is placed here by divine inspiration. Paul knew some of the people at Rome but not all, yet there is a strong affection for these fellow believers. This section magnifies that believers should be delighted in other believers where ever and whoever they are and that every believer, man and woman, slave or free, Jew or Gentile are important for the functioning of the body of Christ.

James reminds us of the pattern of temptation. It's not God's fault, but our own. After James gives the pattern, he gives four things that serve as a deterrent to keep one from going down the path to sin.

In the midst of the suffering of the cross, Jesus was still willing to remind us of the importance of family concerns. His mother's suffering also was not something to be ignored. He made sure she was taken care of. This story reminds us of the concern and understanding has for all mothers in their suffering. He displays a pattern of responsibility for parents for future generations. He also shows the weakness of Mary who was one that needed help and a Savior.

This is part of the series emphasizing God's glory revealed in His character found in Exodus 34-6-7. This psalm of David some 400 years after Moses shows that David had considered this statement of God and meditated upon it. God's character of mercy and compassion is something David claims as a promise as he seeks rescue from well-organized enemies. It serves as a pattern for us to hold onto the character of God in our prayers.
