A parable about selling everything to buy the Kingdom. It's worth every penny.

Jesus tells a story and the disciples don't understand why. Parables make us think, but above all they center us on Jesus' Kingdom.

We hear "do not" and we think someone is restricting us. Holding us back. Jesus says "do not" because he cares for our hearts and is opening up new possibilities.

Jesus' sermon on the mount is not a list of requirements- the what we do. Jesus is much more concerned about who you are.

We like when Jesus teaches. Well, most of the time. Is he serious about everything he says?

The calling of Jesus is to come behind him and follow. Learn, live and do more like him. In his footsteps we live the way of life.

The Kingdom of Heaven is a different kind of kingdom where people live differently and there is room for all to enter.

New year, but the same problems. We look towards with great hope. But, are we building a kingdom that will end in death or life in the kingdom of life?
