Pastor Seth discusses the unwavering faith of Abraham in this weeks sermon. In obedience, he went out to a foreign land promised to be inhabited by his offspring. He was promised as man offspring as the stars in the sky or sand on the sea shores. His name was changed to Abram (exalted father) to Abraham (father of many nations). The problem was, he had no children and his body was as good as dead. He was 75 years old when the promise was given to him and it took 25 years until that promise was fulfilled. How do we be faithful to God concerning a promise even though we may not see that promise fulfilled for years to come? Listen here to find out!

This week we discuss two prominent figures in the Scripture; Enoch and Noah. Both men had commonalities among them. Enoch pronounced judgements upon the Watchers because of their sins committed. Noah pronounced condemnation upon the offspring of the Watchers, the Nephilim, by proclaiming the coming judgement upon the earth and by faith, built the ark for the saving of his household. Both men are also described as having "walked with God". We please God by our faith and pursuit of our relationship with Him. God promises us that He "rewards those who diligently seek Him".

This week Pastor Jim discusses the importance of our faith as Christians. The faith that we have in God is not: an uncertain hope, blind faith, positive thinking, or Christian optimism. The faith that we have in Christ is a sure foundation of our beliefs that brings forth a living hope. The more we grow in our relationship with God, the more our faith increases and with that, the increase of our hope. God has been faithful to to fulfill His promises in our past, so we know He will be faithful to do it again!

The writer of Hebrews lays out numerous warnings to Christians throughout the book. Today we review the warning of apostasy. Apostasy means abandonment or renunciation of religious beliefs. One sign of apostasy is a life style of deliberate, unrepentant sinning. "For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sin, but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries." He who has an ear let him hear.

This week, Pastor Seth discusses in detail why God requires bloodshed for the forgiveness of sins. "Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins." Why did things have to be this way? Why did God set up a system where only death can serve as atonement for sins? If God has all foreknowledge; then why did He create humans who sinned if He knew He would have to send His Son to die on the cross? Join us as all of these important questions are explained!

This week Pastor Jim explains the layout of the temple and the regulations of worship described in the Old Testament. When Jesus appeared as a high priest, He entered into the holy places once and for all! He did not make sacrifices of goats and bulls, but who through the eternal Spirit, offered Himself without blemish to God purifying our conscience from dead works to serve a living God!

Pastor Seth discusses how Jesus brings a "new and improved" covenant built on better promises. Jesus is our high priest who is seated at the right hand of God. That means, His work is finished! In the old covenant the law was written on tablets of stone, and now, the new covenant the law is written on our hearts.

In the Old Testament, God dwelt in the holy of holies only accessible by the high priest which was prevented by death from continuing in office. In the New Testament, we have a high priest- holy, innocent, unstained, separated from sinners, and exalted by the heavens. Jesus, our high priest, has no need to offer daily sacrifices for His people since He did this "once and for all" when He offered Himself up as a sacrifice. This makes Jesus the guarantor of a better covenant!

Pastor Seth and Pastor Jim tag team this weeks sermon on Pentecost Sunday! Pastor Seth starts off by showing the establishment fo the Biblical holidays in the Old Testament and how they were fulfilled in the New Testament leading up to Pentecost. Pastor Jim then discusses the significance of the day of Pentecost described in Acts chapter 2. It was the birth of the New Testament church and the fulfillment of Jesus' promise concerning the gift of the Holy Spirit to us believers!

Pastor Jim continues on with our two part series concerning these relevant times. We should have wisdom and discernment concerning this current pandemic, but as Christians we are also to be watchmen warning the people of threats and deception. We are to stand up against the deception that produces fear used by the enemy. Today we see this deception being propagated by media and news channels that can twist the truth to cause us to be mislead. In these trying times we are to stand on the rock of God's word and cast our care upon the Lord!
