1) Be Sincere (verse 14-19)

a. Paul was sincere in his prayer.

b. He was not praying for them out of obligation or so he could be seen or heard.

c. He, in his heart, just really wanted the Ephesians to understand that they would be blessed through God.

2) Be Personal (verse 20-21)

a. Paul’s prayer was effective because it was 100% personal.

b. He did not get it from google or read it from a book.

c. It came from his heart.

3) Be Respectful (verse 20)

a. Paul wanted those in Ephesus to never forget how awesome and powerful God was.

b. Highlighting verse 20, “Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us.”

c. Paul is telling us that God won’t just do what we ask of Him, but He will do more.

4) Be Submissive (verse 14-21)

a. This may be the most challenging truth because we are “microwave” Christians… meaning we want things now versus being patient and allowing God to work.

b. Just because you pray for something to happen right now, doesn’t mean that it will happen now… It might take time. God will answer every prayer, but it will be in His timing.
