Heritage History: Is The Onus on Schools or Parents to Teach It?

Listen Later

Did you learn about the involvement of Africa and The Caribbean in The World Wars in school? What about the fact that Britain still owns a colony to this day? Some might argue that a lot of our school history lessons were one-sided, to say the least - it's easy to believe Black people appeared out of nowhere in 1950. However, is it up to schools to teach this or is it for parents to teach their children about their heritage? Is Africa too large of a continent to include in a British syllabus? Fé Oj debates this with Chinny and Astrid from It's A Continent Podcast
