“Touch not the Lord’s anointed! Ever heard a big shot speaker use this term to silence any criticism? Well, come and learn what it really means as we study David’s Psalm of praise at the conclusion of the establishment of the Ark of the Covenant in Jerusalem.

After trying to move the ark without seeking the Lord, and experiencing disastrous consequences, David has learnt his lesson. This time there is consecration, loud rejoicing and dancing as all Israel faithfully worships the Lord…except for one person.

This coming Sunday we consider the text, learning from the example of King David the critical importance of seeking the Lord if we want to be victorious in life. As a bonus we will also take a look at polygamy!

This Sunday we see that God is not impressed by sincerity, zeal, emotion or passion without obedience. If God is God then we worship him the way He tells us to!

"The Chronicler highlights the loyalty of all Israel to David as King. Through this account we are challenged to be loyal to our great King, Jesus Christ, as well as the fact that if we are to be mighty men and women in God’s Kingdom it will not occur without rigorous training in godliness."
