Rumors about the source of the psychic phenomena lead our heroes into an old abandoned Kellish shrine, where they learn more, and Elyris tries to figure out if feeding the monsters is a viable alternative to fighting them.

Taking their investigation to the source, Azatha, Eklan, Elyris, and Thalia go to investigate Illiregarde Manor, to see what the late Lady Illiregarde knew about the phenomena before her untimely death. Also, Azatha's secret comes out to the party.

The work for Professor Lorrimor continues, as Azatha, Eklan, Elyris, and Thalia join the professor as strange red lightning strikes a hillside, and they attempt to collect some of the ectoplasmic residue from the strike.
