Heroes' Veritas

In this episode, I redirect my original episode content to last minute focus on what I call, 'harnessing fire'. I focus on 3 areas of information:

1. Winter seasons are inevitable. They happen to everyone and provide us opportunities to grow.

2. What is the mark of a great man is how they handle the storms and winter seasons in their lives.

3. Analyzing you winters to ensure you have profoundly functional spring and summer seasons.

Robbie Kroeger, founder of Blood Origins, an organization dedicated to changing the conversation around hunting, took the time with me for a great conversation about the current hunting narrative in society.

We discuss the hurdles the hunting community faces, the role anti-hunters and non-hunters play in the growth or regulation of the sport, and the benefits to men of the tradition and past time of hunting.

Clay Smeltzer, founder of the Purposed Infused Coaching program and buddy, sat down with me for a great conversation about the hurdles and difficulties he experienced in his life that lead him to making the pivot to taking ownership over his life.

We discuss the anecdotes of being a men's coach, the two major questions every man must answer for himself, and tips/tricks that can help men take control and stop playing on the sidelines of their own lives.

I got the privilege to sit down with Marcus Torgerson, Krav Maga instructor and Mental Health Champion, for a couple hours of talking about life. We had never met before, but I have respected him for a long time from his exploits. After this conversation where we discuss his background, how he wants to be remembered and how society sees Men through different filters, my respect only increased.

Background about Marcus from his Site:
With over four decades of martial arts experience, including three decades instructing self defense and personal fitness and two decades working nightclub security, I've become a respected expert in responding to and de-escalating violent situations.

During the past ten years, I've had the privilege of travelling the globe, certifying men and women in over 20 countries to become Krav Maga instructors, conducting instructional seminars, and rank testing . I'm the only non-Israeli on the international Krav Maga federation instructors team."

With this episode we cover the upcoming live event, our first guest, and the topic of 'Tactics Over Theatrics', the idea that we live too heavily in our own minds and fantasy worlds, instead of in the real world. We spend hours developing fictitious skill sets and allowing our egos to convince us that when the need arises we will somehow be equipped to handle it, despite the fact we have dedicated little to no real time to ensure our success.  Get out of your head, get out of the video game, get out of the wish, hope, and dream state and go take charge of your life, make it happen.

Diving into the fourth and final foundational virtue, Honor. We discuss the principles that define honor as a concept, the benefits and the tactical application of establishing a system of honor. This episode is lengthier than previous episodes because the topic requires a bit more exemplification in order to provide context as to the minutia of its real-world application. Establishing your system of honor is paramount to ensure that you protect the most finite of resources, yourself.

The third foundational virtue, Mastery, is covered in an objective and amoral context. I provide the definition within the context of Heroes' Veritas, discuss the importance of cultivating mastery as well as cultivating the wisdom and experience to know when and how to implement any skillsets you develop.
