Superman goes into exile in Superman #28, Batman engages in street racing to pump up the Wayne Family fortune in Detective Comics #601, Spider-Man tackles The Scorpion in Amazing Spider-Man #318 and the Uncanny X-Men are embroiled in Inferno in #242

Adventures Of Superman #424. Detective Comics #573. Amazing Spider-Man #290. Uncanny X-Men #225. What do all these comics have in common? They were all retroactively removed from continuity EXCEPT X-Men #225 which was itself part of a ret-con! Oh, and they were published in 1987. Which is why Andrew and Micheal are talking about them.

Donning their life preservers, Andrew and Micheal stop by 1985 to discuss why the name ‘Brad’ is so maligned and other topics including Superman #414, Batman #386, Amazing Spider-Man #263 and Uncanny X-Men #200. An episode that features a Crisis On Infinite Earths tie-in, the introduction of a new villain, the birth of an Osborn and the trial of Magneto! Now, that’s packed!

The 1980’s retrospective marches on with more of comics finest including Superman and Superboy switching minds in Superman #380, Batman facing a mandroid Dick in Batman #356, an enraged Vulture out for revenge in Amazing Spider-Man #240 and Professor X being a jerk in Uncanny X-Men #168.

It’s the 199th episode and to celebrate Micheal and Andrew do what they always do – talk about comics. Tangentially still hanging around the 90’s, they read the 4 part Marvel Vs DC crossover and argue a lot over the battles within. So, clear away 100 minutes and get into that best of all comics conversations – who would win in a fight between – ?

Tangential questions of how former Hercules actor Kevin Sorbo ended up on an island of cannibals aside, Micheal & Andrew take a trip to the seedier side of espionage. Meet VELVET TEMPLETON, she used to be a spy. Yes, one of Image Comics finest new books is poured over, largely because Ed Brubaker and Steve Epting have made it lovely to look at. But what it’s all about Alfie? You’ll have to check it out to find out.

It’s the fifth and final look at comics published in the 90’s with a round up of some IMAGE launch books. Are YOUNGBLOOD #1, WILDCATS #1 and SPAWN #1 much better efforts than what McFarlane, Lee and Liefeld were doing at Marvel? Do they use their creative freedom to expand the comic book medium and challenge the boundaries? Well, you’ll have to listen to find out but afterwards Mike and Andrew look at their favourite comics of the 90’s to prove it wasn’t all bad.

Acting as a counterpoint to the big guns and big boobs comics of IMAGE, DC launches VERTIGO, for Mature Readers. As far away from Mature as you can get, Andrew and Micheal giggle through the depraved acts of PREACHER:BLOOD & WHISKEY, muse philosophically over the beard stroking antics of A Thousand Cats in SANDMAN #18 and then smile uncomfortably at the black as coal antics of THE EATERS. Beware, though. Some Vertigo concepts may to too hot for the little ones.
