  • 3- 7th Grade Math Placement: A Few Words

    I just gave out the letters from the IUSD math department to your children regarding next year’s math placement. I also wanted to send out a couple clarifying pieces of information.

    1. All the info you need is on that letter.
    2. There are only 2 options for math next year (Math      7 and Enhanced Math 7/8)
    3. Math 7 is exactly where you are supposed to be
    4. Many students who are placed in Enhanced Math 7/8      often choose not to take that course and opt for Math 7
    5. The scores for the 2 tests don’t tell you a lot      of information.
      1. The district average for the basic skills test       is 80%
      2. The district average for the End of Course       assessments is 56%
      3. Should you have any questions about your child’s      scores or next year’s placement don’t hesitate to email me or stop by.

      4. 2- Walk Through the Ancient World Next Monday!

          

        Walk Through the Ancient World

        Today the students will be given parts for our annual Walk Through The Ancient World game. We will be playing next Monday (May 13th) from 11:30-2:00. We will be eating lunch early that day so if your students normally buy lunch, that day is a good day to send a lunch.


         

        The students can come dressed up in costume (many parts ask students to wear costumes or bring props.) That is all optional but it’s a lot of fun when all the students dress up I recommended to your children today that they come home and start planning their costume.

        Parents are also welcome to attend and watch. We will be in the MPR.
