It's not all butterflies and rainbows when you share your work with others. Get enough eyes on your art and you WILL eventually hear some things about it you'll probably wish you didn't. Our best solution? To tell all about what people have said to us over the years in this tea-filled mini episode.

"Tell me about your work?" is the most dreaded and opened ended question on the planet, according to most artists. And yet! If you make art you will most definitely be asked it, and a whole lot more in follow up.
In fact, once upon a time, Devon had booked a studio visit and had no idea how to prepare, or what the heck she would be asked. So she called up Marisa and got a FULL run down of all the possible things that could happen and what she could say about her work (lucky her). In today's episode, we recreated that prep session for you.
You might want to grab a pen and paper to jot down these q's and sentence starters, cause it's basically an entire "tell me about your work" outline, start to finish.

We all have them. It's natural. But how do we get through them?
In this episode we get into the many reasons why you might be experiencing creative block and our favorite remedies for them. Both of which, end up covering a lot of ground! And hint: the reason for your creative block is likely the key to resolving it.

Ah- the eternal question. What is good? And who decides that? How do we "measure" ourselves in a field where there are infinite subjective opinions on the matter? As per usual, we way dig deep into all this and more.

Today's topic is particularly beloved by your hosts: collaboration! (Hey, this show is kinda a collab. Meta right? We talk about that.) Art collabs can go amazingly right or amazingly wrong, and telling all about what causes them to go one way or the other, from our personal experiences.
You'll hear from two VERY different collaborative teams: Devon and Marisa, and Andrea and Meggy (today's special guest!). So brace yourself for both, the extremely planned and the harmoniously chaotic ways that one might approach creative partnership. In addition to how to choose the right partner, what to discuss upfront, what should be expected of both artists, the do's and don't's and a whole lot more.
If you wanna own one of Devon and Marisa's collabs for rEaL, be sure to check out their dome collection, dropping August 14th!

Seeing as self-doubt tends to go hand-in-hand with making art, confidence is often a scary (yet crucial!) topic for us. So today we're digging into it from all angles: the nuance of being confident in some areas but not others, childhood labels, rejection, navigating openings, networking as an introvert, social media, and, most importantly, how to stand behind your work with the confidence it deserves. Whether you're a long time career artist or just starting to make stuff, we think there'll be a lot for you to relate to in this one!
