In a culture that values busyness, we can often find ourselves drained. When we get to that point, we need to refresh, replenish, and hear the whisper of the Lord. It will give us a fresh perspective on life and strength for the journey.

On this Memorial Day, we honor the soldiers that have given their lives, and we see it as symbolism of Jesus Christ who gave His life for us. Therefore, let’s be good soldiers of endurance, and let’s concentrate on the things of God that really matter. Live to please the Lord because one day we’ll see Him face to face, the suffering will end, and we’ll be home.

As we wrap up our study on 1, 2, & 3 John, we want to anchor the truth of these scriptures in our hearts. God is the light that leads us and the love that holds us. From this foundation, we make a choice to get the sin out of our lives and allow the holiness through the Holy Spirit to rise up. And we step forward into the world to make a difference in the lives of others because the Lord first made a difference in ours.

Mothers are highly honored, and they can make an incredible influence. Though they aren’t perfect, they can help build godly habits, be a source of encouragement and comfort, and help their children in the process of owning their own faith.

In our second look at the book of 3 John, we see a contrast between the good and the bad. Diotrephes was self-seeking and destructive to others and the church. The result was a character that no one wanted to emulate. Demetrius the disciple chose to live an upright life of truth and walked in close relationship with others and was highly esteemed. Choose to live a life of humility, truth, and in relationship with others, and your legacy will take of itself.

For the National Day of Prayer, Houston's First hosted a Webcast during the day to encourage everyone to take a moment of rest from the usual business to pray.
