This week I spoke to Abbie McCarthy, you might know her as A Sober Tale. Abbie is one of the shining lights in my sobriety, I have the privilege of calling her a true friend.
Abbie bared her soul to me and goes through the ups and downs of her early sobriety which led her to three months with AA. She’s another guest who has struggled greatly with mental health problems in sobriety, keep listening to get her take on why it’s worth carrying on. And how she is ready to start getting deep with therapy to try and work out how she can fix what her driving instructor diagnosed as broken inside of her.
This week will be the last episode in a 25 episode long season one. My intention with this podcast was to carry on, once a week forever, but I want to give you the absolute best I can, and that means taking a bit of a break to focus on levelling it up. It won’t be long. Don’t forget me.
Go back and listen to them all again, follow me on Instagram @merlotfreemelody to find out when I’ll be back.
You know her as This Sober Girl, Katie McNicol came to talk to me this week and we went through how it feels to give up drinking in your 20s. Katie's family has a few people in recovery, so we discuss nature vs nurture. And finally, how mental health in sobriety isn't always worth it, but we're still staying sober anyway.

Josh Connolly came to talk to me this week about his experience as a child of an alcoholic, and also about being an alcoholic himself. Josh speaks so profoundly about his experiences, being a father, how to navigate life as someone who has nearly 10 years of sobriety under their belt.

Christie and I share a passion for shouting about sobriety, and neither of us are scared to say what we mean when it comes to hating on the booze.
This week it's:
Controversy for sober coaching
How to know when you’re drinking too much
Coping with grief when you're sober

Hello, welcome back to Hi, I'm Sober.
Meg is back and whilst this isn’t the standard podcast episode where I learn about someone's relationship with alcohol, it is a wonderful story about a woman who is powerful and inspiring and whose addiction is the least interesting thing about her.
A heads up that we mention abortion during this episode, if you’re not feeling ready to listen to people talk about that then please skip to next weeks episode.
Meg's blog is www.megundressed.com I implore you to read it.
