So whenever we are in need, we should come bravely before the throne of our merciful God. There we will be treated with undeserved kindness, and we will find help.
Late in 1943, Ruth Caye Jones, mother of five and the wife of a busy Pastor, was reading 2 Timothy 3:1, which says, "in the last days perilous times shall come". As she read the Pittsburgh papers, saw the World War II casualty list, and watched the slow progress of the allied troops moving up the boot of Italy, it seemed that perilous times had already come. Rationing was hitting hard; discouragement was everywhere. How long could people continue in times like these? Ruth took out a small notepad from here apron pocket and started writing some words. Ruth had no formal music training but as she wrote the words, the melody came to her. It was the right song for the right time; soon people around the world were singing it.
My question is simple; "what do you want out of life? Are you content to go through life under your own power, under your own skills, under your own abilities or would you rather have the power, the skills, the abilities and the blessings God offers?
Everybody needs an Abishai! Someone who has their back, someone who will look out for them, to make sure someone or something doesn't come up and try to do them in.
Jesus' Words: 24-25 “These words I speak to you are not incidental additions to your life, homeowner improvements to your standard of living. They are foundational words, words to build a life on. If you work these words into your life, you are like a smart carpenter who built his house on solid rock. Rain poured down, the river flooded, a tornado hit—but nothing moved that house. It was fixed to the rock. 26-27 “But if you just use my words in Bible studies and don’t work them into your life, you are like a stupid carpenter who built his house on the sandy beach. When a storm rolled in and the waves came up, it collapsed like a house of cards.” Where are you building your life (house) on rock or sand, you choose!
We know that God loves, but God not only loves, the Bible states that "God is Love!" His whole nature, His whole being, everything God does is from the position of love; love for His Creation, mankind.
* The rule is simple: good is from God, bad is from the devil or other people!
* Whatever storm you may be embroiled in - no matter how severe, no matter how
stressed and overwhelmed you may be, you are not out of the Lord's vision or
interest!
* When you're stuck in the storm, the solution is the presence of the Lord!
* Whether your storm was just thrown in your face or it seems like hell is coming down the
road high speed right at you, your boat isn't going to sink, the Lord hasn't forgotten you
and the storm will end.
We can have pictures on the wall, we can have a Bible on the coffee table, we can even attend church once a week; but when we live out the values that Jesus died for, when our life becomes a mirror of His life, that's when we really honor Him!
If what has always happened to you is what you expect to happen to you, nothing will ever change; your past then becomes your future! But if you have made a profession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, your life has been dramatically altered by the covenant you have through the blood of the Lord Jesus. The Lord has given you a new future.
